The Importance of Refrigeration Gaskets

Updated: Aug 8, 2021

ICE COLD BEER... YES!!! (well, that's one of the many reasons)

A refrigeration gasket seals cold air inside and keeps hot air outside of your refrigeration unit. When it cracks, dries out, or is damaged, the unit is unable to maintain an even temperature due to cold air seeping out. This causes the compressor to run far more often than it should, wearing it out prematurely if the leak is not fixed while also wasting electricity. Moisture may also condense on the exterior of the fridge, creating mold, and ice may form on the inside of freezer sections that are supposed to be frost-less. In addition, food in the refrigerator may spoil quickly if the unit is not able to stay as cool as it should be.
